# If a client declines

> What happens when a client declines a quote instead of signing.

Sometimes a client says no. Here's what happens when they do.

## How a client declines

On the quote page, below the signing section, there's a **Decline** button. If they tap it, they can optionally leave a reason before confirming.

## What happens next

The quote moves to **Declined** status in your account. You're notified the same way you'd be notified for an acceptance. Any quote follow-up emails that were scheduled stop automatically — Clarely won't keep nudging a client who's already said no.

## Declined is final

A declined quote can't be reopened or re-sent as-is. If the client changes their mind or you want to try again with different terms, create a new quote.

## Declining a quote yourself

If a client tells you no over the phone or in person, you don't need them to log in and decline it — open the quote and mark it declined yourself.

## What to do next

If a quote gets declined, check whether a revised quote makes sense — see [Create a quote](/quotes/create-quote) to start a new one.
